CASE STUDY
Creating advanced, secure platforms for public health.
PROBLEM
An international healthcare organization lacked a modern, integrated health information platform. The platform needed to collect official policies, prevention measures, and decisions in local areas in order to monitor epidemics and diseases across India and provide clear results tracking.
OVERVIEW
A technology solution was developed to seamlessly exchange data between India’s individual state systems and the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP). APIs (Application Programming Interface) were developed as the intermediary system between the IHIP of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the individual state system for the secure and seamless exchange of data.
PRAKAT SOLUTION
The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) works under the National Health Mission. It maintains a decentralized and IT-enabled disease surveillance system for epidemic-prone diseases to monitor disease trends and to detect and respond to outbreaks in the early rising phase. Individual states collected data on patients, diseases, lab tests, epidemic trends, and more.
This integrated central system collects and makes all state data readily available in one digital hub to aid in the national response for faster and more effective disease prevention and mitigation.
Increased surveillance and improved health
KEY WINS
Designed and developed a robust system to consume the IDSP API for authenticating the system and uploading prepared data to the IDSP platform.
Timely delivery of APIs to connect individual state information which helped in starting centralized oversight for the tracking of epidemics.
Ability to coordinate between information systems of different formats and syntax while developing a unified information-sharing mechanism.
Facilitation of parallel projects across multiple state and central departments and technology firms to enable seamless information sharing and coordination.
