Product Engineering: Integration of ACORD 130 Data with CRM
OVERVIEW
This project involved the development of an OCR-based scanning solution integrated with Salesforce Sales Cloud. Users can upload PDFs through a web-based form, where the system extracts and displays data for verification. Upon confirmation, the data is sent to Salesforce, creating a new record. Additionally, an alert is generated via Acord Automation to notify the sales team, prompting timely action on the submission.
CHALLENGES
The Professional Employer Organization faced challenges with the ACORD 130 Form data related to Workmen’s Compensation, including:
- Extended Cycle Time: The process of transferring data from the form ACORD 130 to Salesforce CRM was time-consuming, delaying quotation and sales efforts.
- Complex Form Filling: The intricacy of the ACORD 130 form necessitated user training, complicating the data entry process and hindering efficiency.
Solution Implemented:
- Developed a solution to extract data from PDFs through image-to-text conversion.
- Provide users a way to verify and edit the extracted text to remove unnecessary characters and whitespace.
- Sync confirmed data to Salesforce using API integration.
- Sent an email alert to the sales team for further processing of the uploaded data.
