Product Engineering: Integration of ACORD 130 Data with CRM
PROBLEM
A Professional Employer Organization received an ACORD 130 Form with Workmen Compensation details and it takes a longer cycle time to transfer this data to Salesforce CRM and then consume the data for providing Quotations and sales process. The form filling also requires training for the users since it is complex.
OVERVIEW
An OCR-based scanning and integration of data with Salesforce Sales Cloud was developed. This lets the user upload the PDF (Portable Document Format) into a web-based form. The Module extracts the data from the form and displays it in the Web Form and upon verification of the data it is sent to Salesforce and a record is created. An Alert is created once this data is pushed to salesforce through Acord Automation for the Sales team to act on the submission.
SOLUTIONS
A Python-based solution was developed and provided which extracts the data from PDF by doing an Image to Text conversion and lets the user verify the text that is converted to avoid any unnecessary characters, white spaces, etc. Once the data looks acceptable, the same is submitted to Salesforce consuming an API. Once the data is uploaded to Salesforce a flag is set to indicate this is an automatic data inserted and an email alert is sent to the sales team for further processing.
